Purpose of This MinistryMany times we hear people say that they do not know very much about their own Catholic religion, even though they attended Catholic school or religious education classes until the eighth grade. In fact, a lot of adults have an eighth graders understanding of their faith; and we all know that having an eighth grader's understanding of math would not get us very far today! The team looks for opportunities through scheduled speeches, classes, or events to give parishioners' adult catechesis. We also take advantage of circumstances to raise people's awareness, for example; educating people about the latest attack against the Catholic Church; such as the Da Vinci Code novel or claiming to find the bones of Jesus. How Can One Become Involved in This Ministry? One can become involved by sharing their talents in topics of interest relating to our Catholic faith concerning the educational growth of our adult community here at Our Lady of Greenwood. Another way to become involved is to come and join us through the regular school year on Sunday mornings at 9:00 a.m. in the school by sharing your faith with others interested in improving their knowledge about our Catholic faith, which also includes discussing current events that affect our faith. These sessions last about an hour.
