What is This Ministry About? Our Lady of the Greenwood Youth Ministry is centered in the person of Jesus Christ. It is organized around the U.S. Catholic Bishops' official vision of youth ministry, Renewing the Vision and includes youth in grades six through twelve. Youth Ministry also oversees the preparation of youth between the ages of 13—18 for the Sacrament of Confirmation. How Can One Become Involved In this Ministry? This ministry needs a large number of volunteers every year in a wide variety of ways and time commitments, from very minimal to more long-term commitments. Chaperones are needed for Junior High dances, hayrides, youth groups, etc., as well as for high school socials, service projects, retreats and conferences. Adults working with youth on a prolonged, overnight driving capacity will need to have a background check and attend an Archdiocesan VIRTUS training to insure the protection of our youth.
