School Commission

Mission Statement

The mission of the School Commission is to assist the pastor and principal in the oversight of the Our Lady of the Greenwood School

Purpose of the School Commission

The School Commission performs four major functions:

• assists in fulfilling the spiritual, academic, social and psychological needs of its students;
• plans for future needs and forms policy;
• ensures the financial security of the school; and
• fosters communication within the parish.

The School Commission coordinates the following two ministries:

• PTO (Parent-Teacher Organization)
• School Volunteers

When Are School Commission Meetings?

Meetings are usually held on the first Wednesday of the month (with no meetings in December, June or July) at a pre-determined time in the school.

Membership

Members include the:

• Pastor,
• Principal,
• Business Manager,
• PTO (Parent Teacher Organization) President,
• Finance Council Representative,
• Representative from SS. Francis and Clare of Assisi Greenwood; and
• Seven elected parishioners from Our Lady of the Greenwood parish.
