Purpose of the Arts and Environment Ministry
The Arts and Environment ministry is responsible for decorating and preparing the church for the different liturgical seasons of the year.
This ministry supports and enhances liturgical celebrations at Our Lady of Greenwood by creating an appropriate atmosphere in the church and chapel. This atmosphere is created through seasonal floral arrangements and decorations, altar coverings, vestments, banners, statues, and other permanent or temporary works of art.
The majority of the ministry’s work is preparing for the Christmas and Easter seasons.
When Are Arts and Environment Meetings?
Planning sessions are held two or three times a year on an as-needed basis. The majority of the ministry’s work is preparing for the Christmas and Easter seasons.
Membership
This ministry has a need for a wide variety of talents including artistic skills, sewing, interior decorating, floral arranging, carpentry and plant care. This ministry often needs volunteers to do heavy lifting and volunteers who are comfortable on ladders.
