Interested in Becoming Catholic?

If you are interested in becoming Catholic or just have an interest in finding out more about our faith, we offer the “Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults” (R.C.I.A.)  This process starts each year in August and finishes with participants ready to join the Catholic Church at the Easter Vigil Mass.

Link to RCIA Ministry

It is divided into four sections:

Inquiry

This is an overview of our faith.  We cover Creation, Faith, the Holy Trinity, Jesus Christ, the Bible, Catholic prayers and practices, the Mass, places and people of the church, church as Community, an overview of the Sacraments, Mary, and the Saints.

Catechumenate

This is the phase that goes more deeply into the Catholic faith.  It covers all the sacraments (Baptism, Eucharist, Reconciliation, Confirmation, Anointing of the Sick, Matrimony, and Holy Orders), moral living, the dignity of life and Social Justice issues, the Mass in detail, Eschatology, and Church History, including the early Church, the Reformation, and Vatican II.

Enlightenment and Purification

This is the period during Lent when we prepare spiritually for Easter Vigil, the time that those completing the program come into the Church.  It is a time of becoming closer to Christ in the practices of Lent and learning more about the Catholic faith.  Here too, we work diligently to help you develop a solid prayer life.

Mystagogy

This period follows the Easter Vigil and gives the neophytes (new Catholics) an immersion into what it is they believe, celebrate, live, and pray as Catholics.  Essentially we explore the concept of “what’s next” now that you are a member of the Catholic faith.

Who can attend?

Anyone with a curiosity and interest in learning what the Catholic faith is all about.  All are welcome:  the unchurched, the unbaptized, the baptized of another faith, baptized as Catholic but never schooled in their faith, or those who are fully Catholic and want a refresher course!

How Do You Sign Up?

RCIA usually starts in August or early September.
It will be advertised in the bulletin and on the website.
You will need to contact our Pastor, Fr. Todd for more information. Go to our "Contact Us" link below for contact information.
