Here is your Friday update for the weekend, please read carefully!
Masks to be worn at all Masses and meetings: In keeping with the Governor’s request beginning Monday July, 27th, 2020 masks will be required at all of our Masses and indoor meetings here at Our Lady of the Greenwood for anyone over the age of eight years old. This includes Sunday and daily Mass, meetings, office visits, and any other gathering that happens indoors. Our Mass attendance has been steadily increasing over the past few months which is really great! This extra precaution will help us continue to keep our buildings open and available for prayer and ministry. A couple of logistical concerns:
- Receiving Communion: When the time comes to receive the Eucharist at Mass you may approach without wearing it. When you return to your seat put the mask back on. You can also approach wearing the mask. Simply pull down you mask before receiving and return it to your face after you have consumed the Host.
- A medical condition that prevent you from wearing a mask: If you have a medical reason that you are unable to wear a mask, please contact the office and we will plan to bring Holy Communion to your home or schedule a Communion service here on the parish grounds that is outdoors. The Mass is still available live on our Facebook page and we are actually getting ready to expand our ability to offer it using other media tools, such as YouTube.
Beginning Perpetual Adoration again: The Knights of Columbus are still scheduling people for our Perpetual Adoration Chapel and we only have about 1/3rd of the hours covered. We really need two people for every hour in order to begin. We are working on a plan to move Adoration to our Chapel upstairs so that we are able to maintain social distancing. Please sign up! If we can get a couple of days covered we can start with this and gradually build back up to the twenty-four hours we usually offer. There is sign up information on page 12 of the bulletin.
Fall Festival: As most of you know we were unable to have our festival this year which for many of us is time to come together and celebrate with each other and with the local community. We have decided that we can probably pull off a small festival sometime during October. Activities we hope to include would be an outdoor Mass on Saturday evening, a chili cookoff, an arts and crafts fair all day Saturday, live music with a variety of praise bands, a family talent show and other food, games, and activities. If you would like to be part of this and volunteer to help please send us an email at email@example.com.
God Bless and know of my continued prayers for all of you!
