Mission Statement
The Mission of the Lenten Fish Fry is to enable parishioners to socialize and to offer a meal for those who want to attend Stations of the Cross during the Lenten season.
What is this Ministry About?
The Lenten Fish Fry group provides a fish dinner on Friday evenings during Lent in the school cafeteria, with the fish fry starting at 5:00 p.m.
The process consists of ordering and picking up the food, preparation thereof, serving the meal and cleanup. With the exception of desserts, all the food is purchased. The Parish Council has the responsibility for arranging for volunteers to supply the desserts.
Who May Participate in this Ministry?
Anyone is welcome to volunteer for this ministry. Volunteers are always needed in all aspects of this ministry, with no special skills required. Typically there are approximately 15 individuals per night. Of these, the time commitment varies with some starting at 3:00 p.m. and working until cleanup is completed around 9:00 p.m. Dinner starts at 5:00 p.m.
Because so many youth volunteer, this ministry requires completion of the Safe and Sacred requirements for those over 18 years of age. See below.
