What Do I Do at Our Lady of the Greenwood?
I am involved in multiple ministries at OLG. I volunteer my services as the coordinator of the R.C.I.A (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) ministry program. My lovely wife and I contribute our volunteer services in roles as Annulment Field Associates and also as Marriage Couple Sponsors.
My Background
Being a cradle Catholic from a Polish Parish in Bay City, Michigan, I married my high school sweetheart, Lynda at age twenty. We have lived in nine different States due to my job transfers and today are blessed with three children and six grandchildren. I have been a member of OLG parish now for some twenty-six years. I worked my way through the automotive and chemicals industry to the level of director and VP and have earned an MBA along the way. In 2016, I retired and went on to actively complete some 21 theology courses through the online program at Notre Dame University. This resulted in earning certificates in Lay Formation Ministry and Church History.
Why Do I Volunteer My Services at Our Lady of the Greenwood?
To me being Catholic means accepting Jesus as my Savior and then engaging in my local parish community. Trying to live a life as Christ teaches us, to my mind; includes service in the various ministries offered by OLG.
How would I describe Our Lady of the Greenwood to someone who has never been here?
OLG is a large welcoming and vibrant Catholic community walking its collective pathway to holiness. One might say we are a traditional parish. We are deeply interested in learning more about the “Goods News” of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Through the OLG pastoral clergy and community, the Church teaches us to live a Christ-centered life and celebrate the Eucharist.
