What Do I Do at Our Lady of the Greenwood?
My responsibility as a volunteer webmaster is to do my best to keep the OLG website running smoothly and effortlessly.
I created the original static website for OLG back in 2008 and recently I have now re-designed our website to be:
- A responsive website that is mobile friendly and is designed to easily display information on any screen or device size you wish to use.
- An interactive website which allows the OLG staff to dynamically communicate news when in happens, blog if they wish, add videos, add events to our calendar, and to allow the staff to design and implement interactive forms.
My responsibilities are many, but most important it includes protecting the website from hackers and spammers as well as any maintenance that needs to be done on an ongoing basis.
My Background
I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago. I have been a volunteer webmaster at OLG since 2008. I received my Bachelor’s degree in computer science back in the days when mainframe computers were still popular. I have seen many changes in the technology field since I received my degree. Before I retired, I worked for many years around the Chicago area as a computer consultant.
