Items of Interest for New Parishioners
Where to Park?
Thanks to our new parking lot on the north side of the building, parking should not be a problem. The only restrictions are no parking in the marked fire lanes or on the grass of Craig Park. Please do not park in the priests’ parking spaces or the Adoration Chapel spaces on the northeast side of the church. Both are clearly marked.
We have an entire row of spaces reserved for handicapped (on the Meridian Street side) during Masses. There are also spaces in the back and in the new lot.
Where Should My Children Go During Mass?
We do not have cry room for our main church. Nor do we have a nursery. Our philosophy is that children should become comfortable with the Mass as soon as possible. So children are very welcome in Mass! If however, they are disturbing other parishioners with crying or running around, we ask that you take them out to the Narthex (gathering space). We have monitors broadcasting the Mass to the Narthex.
When Will One Receive OLG’s Envelopes for Giving?
It takes about one to two months to get your name on the mailing schedule for envelopes. We will provide you with a packet of generic envelopes until they do arrive, which is every two months.
We also encourage people to give automatically. Our Business Manager, Fran Reiley, can help you sign up for electronic giving (EFT). Just give her a call at the parish office (317-888-2861).
You Will Be Invited to a Welcome Brunch
We have a Welcome Brunch twice a year to welcome our new parishioners and get to meet you personally. We provide a delicious meal. Members of our parish council and staff give presentations that highlight what we have to offer. The brunches are usually in spring and fall. We will send you an invitation, so please be on the lookout for it.
