Mission Statement The mission of the parish festival is to generate income for the parish budget as well as bringing the whole Greenwood parish and community together. When Does This Event Occur? The Our Lady of the Greenwood Parish Festival is a four-day event that takes place in the first part of June of each year and this festival is celebrated on the school property. The OLG annual festival event is held in early June for four days. The date of the next festival will be published here on the website, posted in the Parish bulletin, and advertised in the local community newspaper. What Does this Ministry Do? This ministry, the Parish Festival, is put together by the festival chairperson. Contacts, permits, etc. are made early in the year. Each booth at the festival has a chairperson(s) who is responsible for all aspects of that booth. There is also a facility coordinator, supply coordinator, finance person and publicity individual assigned to this ministry. Meetings are held on an as-needed basis. What Type of Volunteers Are Needed? All types of people with various talents are always welcome to volunteer for this yearly Our Lady of the Greenwood Parish festival. To have a successful event like the parish festival, volunteers making up approximately 1,000 manpower hours are needed. Volunteers help with the planning, setting up, serving, cleaning up and tear down of the festival. The only skill needed is the ability to want to work and give up your time. Some individuals schedule themselves to be available all of the time while others will work a two-hour shift. If just depends on the individual. Young people are also welcome to help in various capacities. |
