August 22nd & 23rd

In response to the devastating flooding affecting communities across central and southern Indiana, Archbishop Charles C. Thompson has requested that all parishes in the Archdiocese of Indianapolis take up a special collection during Masses this weekend (August 23).

Catholic Charities Disaster Response is already working with state and local emergency officials and other relief organizations to assess needs and coordinate assistance. Initial efforts include deploying crews to remove water-damaged materials from homes, tarp damaged roofs and clear fallen trees, as well as offering emotional and spiritual care. As recovery continues, Catholic Charities will also help communities organize long-term recovery efforts and connect affected homeowners and renters with the support they need.

Gifts to the special collection will help the Church accompany individuals and families facing loss, displacement, and the work of rebuilding.

The faithful are invited to give as they are able and to continue praying for those affected.

Checks may be made out to Secretariat of Catholic Charities and mailed to 1400 N. Meridian Street, Suite 105, Indianapolis, IN 46202.
